The virus that causes mono is transmitted through saliva, so you can get it through kissing, but you can also be exposed through a cough or sneeze, or by sharing a glass or food utensils with someone who has mono. However, mononucleosis isn't as contagious as some infections, such as the common cold.

What is Lupus? Lupus is an autoimmune disease that impacts the immune system. The immune system is like an organ in the body. It is made up of blood cells and lymph nodes as well as parts of the liver and the spleen. The immune system normally protects your body against invaders and infection using proteins called antibodies. Spleen location What is the spleen? The spleen is an organ that is located in the upper abdomen. The spleen is normally about the size of a fist. The spleen is important because it helps filter the blood. What is an enlarged spleen? An enlarged spleen, a condition known as splenomegaly, is not in itself a disease. An enlarged spleen is a sign that the immune system is fighting to remove threats from the body, but failing to do so. There are numerous causes for an enlarged spleen, but there are also natural treatments available to address this condition. Research has shown that around 3% of first-year college students have enlarged spleens.

Young children usually have few symptoms, and the infection often goes unrecognized. You're most likely to get mononucleosis with all the signs and symptoms if you're an adolescent or young adult.

Feb 19, 2020 SIDE EFFECTS. The following adverse reactions have been identified during post-approval use of PLAQUENIL or other 4-aminoqunoline compounds. There can be many reasons for swollen lymph nodes. But it appears that lymphadenopathy could be common with autoimmune diseases and that makes sense given the fact that the lymph nodes are part of the immune system. If you find swollen or painful lymph nodes, please speak to your doctor about this symptom. In Jan the joint pain and painfull walking came back with a vengance.
