    Plaquenil hydroxychloroquine ocd

On a whim, I did a search for plaquenil and anxiety. If it helps I have been taking it for a few years now, with no problems at all. I recognise it and know what it is and that it will pass. I get so depressed because I am doing compulsions (routines and checking) many times a night and I'm not getting the rest I need. My rheumatologist recommended drops rather than the standard pills for more flexability. I was shocked to see that anxiety is a side effect!! If you are struggling on a day to day basis talk to your Gp see if he/she can get you some CBT? Hi, I really don’t think the Plaquenil causes anxiety. If you are spending a lot of time ‘researching’ Dr Google, stop doing that. Our mind tells us to do things that are unnecessary. When I reduce the amount of cortisone I take too rapidly, it triggers a flare.

Plaquenil and cellcept How long does it take for hydroxychloroquine to work

Mar 04, 2020 Hydroxychloroquine or Plaquenil It is commonly used to treat various complications as a result of lupus and other connective tissue disorders; that is to say, the set of cells of the organism that has the same function and that constitute the fundamental structure of the different organs of the human body. Hydroxychloroquine can lower the seizure threshold; therefore, the activity of antiepileptic drugs may be impaired with concomitant use. Fingolimod Major Avoid coadministration of hydroxychloroquine and fingolimod. Hydroxychloroquine increases the QT interval and should not be administered with other drugs known to prolong the QT interval. Chloroquine CQ and hydroxychloroquine Plaquenil HCQ have been used for many years, initially for the treatment of malaria but now more commonly for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus 1. It is now considered for new disease applications in diabetes, heart disease and adjunct cancer therapies 2.

I think that there are other factors that we deal with related to our illnesses that create anxiety. My doctors have me lower one drop a month, am just about off it after 15 months of cortisone. But nothing significant since I have been taking the planquenil. For me it's a case of keeping out of the sun, this was my trigger for the flare ups and hence the anxiety. Yes, I take 400 mg Plaquinal a day, heart and blood pressure medicine plus Lexapro for the anxiety and low moods we get when in a flare.

Let me tell you what weaning down from Plaquenil is like. Within a week most of them said that their symptoms came back with a vengence. for those who need to go off plaquenil, be careful about just going off it cold turkey. Obviously some of CAN do that, but if you don't know if you're one of them - better to be on the safe side and wean slowly. Glad all of your tests have come back normal.
